Supervised Companies
The FMA is an independent, autonomous and integrated supervisory authority for the Austrian Financial Market, established as an institution under public law. It is responsible for the supervision of credit institutions, insurance undertakings, pension funds, staff provision funds, investment funds, investment service providers, companies listed on the stock exchange as well as stock exchanges themselves. Currently the Financial Market Authority supervises in Austria:
- 831 Credit Institutions - therof 10 Licensed severance and retirement funds
- 106 Insurance Undertakings
- 17 Pension Companies mit 142 VRG, therof 8 multi-employer
- 184 Investment Service Providers
- 3 Financial Conglomerates
- 2.251 domestic investment funds of 24 investment funds management companies
- 5.587 foreign investment funds
- 5 Immobilien-investment funds management companies with 7 funds
- 379 Issuers with 9.524 listed securities*
