The law transposes the Solvency II Directive into national law. The supervisory system contains both qualitative and quantitative tools for assessing the solvency of insurance undertakings. The supervisory regime is intended to create uniform competition standards within the insurance sector within the European single market, as well as guaranteeing far-reaching uniform supervisory practices in Austria. At the same time, the most important aim is to protect holders of insurance. The &ldquo;Handbuch Versicherungsaufsicht &ndash; VAG 2016&rdquo; in the <abbr title=\"Financial Market Authority\">FMA<\/abbr> &lsquo;s publication series offers an in-depth and comprehensive overview about the legal bases, as well as their practical application.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The &ldquo;Handbuch Versicherungsaufsicht &ndash; VAG 2016&rdquo; has been published (in German only) by <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.lexisnexis.at\/handbuch-versicherungsaufsicht-vag-2016-9783700764632.html\" class=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LexisNexis<\/a>.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Handbooks published to date<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To date handbooks (available only in German) have been released in the <abbr title=\"Financial Market Authority\">FMA<\/abbr> &lsquo;s publication series on the topics money laundering and Solvency II.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Handbuch Versicherungsaufsicht &ndash;
