{"id":17582716,"date":"2025-10-06T12:26:39","date_gmt":"2025-10-06T10:26:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fma.gv.at\/?p=17582716"},"modified":"2025-10-10T19:52:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T17:52:08","slug":"european-supervisory-authorities-warn-about-risks-involved-with-crypto-assets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fma.gv.at\/en\/european-supervisory-authorities-warn-about-risks-involved-with-crypto-assets\/","title":{"rendered":"European Supervisory Authorities warn about risks involved with crypto-assets"},"content":{"rendered":"<?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The three European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs), namely the European Banking Authority (EBA), the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), and the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), are warning consumers about the risks associated with trading in crypto-investments. While the EU&rsquo;s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) has been in force since December 2024, the level of protection remains limited depending on the product in question.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MiCAR creates binding rules for certain types of crypto-assets and their providers in the EU.
