{"id":22066,"date":"2019-05-22T11:42:38","date_gmt":"2019-05-22T09:42:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fma.gv.at\/?p=22066"},"modified":"2019-05-22T11:54:52","modified_gmt":"2019-05-22T09:54:52","slug":"fma-hosts-bscee-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fma.gv.at\/en\/fma-hosts-bscee-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"The FMA is hosting the Annual Conference of the Group of Banking Supervisors from Central and Eastern Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><p>The Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) is hosting the 32nd Annual Conference of the &ldquo;Group of Banking Supervisors from Central and Eastern Europe (BSCEE)&rdquo; in Vienna on 22&#8209;23 May 2019. 26 banking supervision authorities from the CESEE region, i.e. the countries from Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe, will be discussing about current issues in banking supervision. The FMA holds the chairmanship of the group for the second time in 2019, having previously held it in 2012. The first day of the conference will focus on how supervisory authorities handle digitalised business models and IT risks. On the second day of the conference, the discussions will focus on how the risks relating to money laundering and terrorist financing may be integrated into the banking sector&rsquo;s overall risk assessment. It will also consider how cooperation and the exchange of information can be further improved between the region&rsquo;s supervisory authorities.<\/p><p>The CESEE region is the most important foreign market for Austrian banks. Austrian institutions are active in this region through a total of 50 subsidiary banks. At the end of 2018, these subsidiary banks had total assets of approximately &euro; 206.6 billion.<\/p><p>The BSCEE Group was founded in 1991.
