In the second episode of the FMA podcast, the FMA’s experts Fiona Springer and Patricia Floh-Weninger talk about the temptations and risks related to “buy now, pay later”.<\/strong><\/p>

Phones, televisions, washing machines, kitchens, as well as beauty procedures, new trainers and designer jeans: it is no longer a case of paying now for many long-term and fast-moving consumer goods, but instead of buying now, paying later. Paying in instalments, “buy now, pay later” models, credit cards and other financing arrangements make purchases seem more affordable. Steep interest rates often apply, making the real purchase price considerably higher, while it is also easy to lose the overview over the state of your personal finances this way.<\/p>

The second episode of the FMA’s “Reden wir über Geld” (Let’s talk about money) podcast addresses the temptations and risks of consumer lending. The FMA’s experts, Fiona Springer and Patricia Floh-Weninger explain about the different types of payment deferrals that exist, and explain what consumers need to be aware of. The segment “Fraud der Folge” (fraud of the episode) covers the related type of fraud, advance payment loan fraud, where a fee is apparently required prior to the loan amount being paid out – a pay-out that in the case of this fraud type never occurs.<\/p>
