In particular, the provider is not permitted to offer lending business pursuant to Article&nbsp;1 para.&nbsp;1 no.&nbsp;3 of the Austrian Banking Act (BWG; Bankwesengesetz). The basis for this publication is Article&nbsp;4 para.&nbsp;7 BWG.<\/p><p class=\"disclaimer wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone providing banking services, and financial and securities services in Austria, requires the necessary authorisation or licence to do so from the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA). Some undertakings offer such services without holding the necessary authorisation. Information about whether a specific undertaking has been authorised by the FMA may be found in the FMA Company Database.<\/p><div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Caution: Fraud involving \"Clone Firms\"<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the case of &ldquo;clone firms&rdquo; fraudsters pretend to be genuine providers, and use their name, branding or company data. As a result, a fraudulent offer looks like it has come from a serious provider.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prior to making any investment decision, check whether the offer really originates from the company that it claims to.
