{"id":443047,"date":"2024-12-27T09:45:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-27T08:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fma.gv.at\/?p=443047"},"modified":"2025-01-02T15:18:29","modified_gmt":"2025-01-02T14:18:29","slug":"fma-asset-management-report-for-3rd-quarter-of-2024-assets-managed-increase-by-2-2-to-e227-6-billion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fma.gv.at\/en\/fma-asset-management-report-for-3rd-quarter-of-2024-assets-managed-increase-by-2-2-to-e227-6-billion\/","title":{"rendered":"FMA Asset Management Report for 3rd Quarter of 2024: assets managed increase by 2.2% to \u20ac227.6 billion"},"content":{"rendered":"<?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the end of the 3rd quarter, Austrian funds collectively managed a total net asset value<a href=\"#_ftn1\" id=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a> of approximately &euro;&nbsp;227.6 bn (+2.2&nbsp;% or &euro;&nbsp;+4.9 bn in comparison with the previous quarter). This consisted of around &euro;&nbsp;104.4 bn in 880 undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (UCITS) (+2.2&nbsp;%) and &euro;&nbsp;123.1 bn in 1,206 alternative investment funds (AIFs) (+2.2 %). On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, the total net asset value has increased by 6.7% or &euro;&nbsp;14.4 bn.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In terms of net amount, the funds posted aggregated outflows of &ndash; &euro; 201 mn during the 3rd quarter. Since the start of the year, net inflows of &euro;&nbsp;779 million have been registered. The outflows during this quarter were driven by equity funds (- &euro; 600 mn; + &euro;&nbsp;62 mn YTD), real estate funds (- &euro;&nbsp;343 mn, &ndash; &euro;&nbsp;1.29 bn YTD) and mixed funds (- &euro;&nbsp;279 mn, &ndash; &euro;&nbsp;317 mn YTD). In contrast, there were net inflows for bond funds (+&euro;&nbsp;995 mn, + &euro;&nbsp;2.32 bn YTD) and other funds (+ &euro;&nbsp;26.0 mn, + &euro;&nbsp;8 mn YTD).<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The assets managed by Austrian funds is broken down into mixed funds &euro; 104.3bn (+ 2.1 % compared with the previous quarter), bond funds &euro; 62.6 bn (+4.1 %), equity funds &euro; 45.9 bn (+0.4 %), real estate funds &euro; 8.4 bn (-3.6 %), short-term bond funds &euro; 4.7 bn (+9.7 %), private equity funds &euro; 1.3 bn (based on annual data), as well as other funds &euro; 0.4 bn (+8.7 %).<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of 30 September, there were 14 investment fund management companies (KAGs; Kapitalanlagegesellschaften) authorised in Austria under the Investment Fund Act 2011 (InvFG 2011; Investmentfondsgesetz 2011) and 60 alternative investment fund managers (AIFMs) under the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Act (AIFMG). Categorised by investment strategy , the breakdown is of 1,138 mixed funds, 432 bond funds, 353 equity funds, 50 short-term bond funds, 45 private equity funds, 17 real estate funds and 51 other funds. Of these, some 685 are classified as sustainability-related funds under the EU&rsquo;s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of the reporting date of 30 September, Austrian sustainability-related funds under the SFDR had a total net asset value of &euro;&nbsp;110.2 billion. This is almost half of the net asset value of all funds in Austria. Compared to the previous quarter, the net asset value of &ldquo;light green&rdquo; funds (Article 8 SFDR) increased by +1.9 % to a total of &euro;&nbsp;107.5 billion. The &ldquo;dark green&rdquo; funds (Article 9 SFDR) posted an increase of +3.1 % to &euro;&nbsp;2.7 billion.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of the end of the third quarter there were 8,196 UCITs (+39 compared to the preceding quarter) and 3,372 AIFs (+80 compared to the preceding quarter) managed by foreign KAGs and AIFMs that had notified about distribution in Austria.
