The first episode of the FMA’s podcast with the FMA’s experts Fiona Springer<\/span> and Patricia Floh-Weninger<\/span> addresses the issue of the Abfertigung neu<\/span> severance scheme and corporate provision companies (Betriebliche Vorsorgekassen<\/span>).<\/strong><\/p>

Following the successful launch of the Instagram channel “Reden wir über Geld<\/span> – powered by FMA” the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) is now taking a further step by launching a podcast with information for consumers. In the first episode, the FMA’s experts Fiona Springer and Patricia Floh-Weninger explain how the “Abfertigung neu<\/span>” severance scheme works. Many consumers are currently letters in the post at the moment from corporate provision companies with statements about the amount of their severance contribution. The podcast explains a number of terms such as “Anwartschaft<\/span>” (entitlement) and “Kapitalgarantie<\/span>” (capital guarantee) and also answers the question whether you can also combine all your severance entitlement accounts held at various pension companies.<\/p>

In the segment “Fraud der Folge<\/span>” the podcast also reports about the current trends in investment fraud – this edition covers “Promi-Betrug<\/span>” (celebrity endorsement fraud), where fake advertisements are used by fraudulent platforms, who try to lure in victims with the help of celebrities.<\/p>

“Reden wir über Geld<\/span>” can be found on all popular podcasting platforms. As was also the case when launching the Instagram channel @redenwiruebergeld<\/a>, the FMA was supported by Content Agentur<\/span> Austria in setting up the podcast. Content Agentur<\/span> Austria is part of the Wiener Zeitung<\/span> media group, and supports public sector establishments as well as the private sector by providing content services.<\/p>
