This was an increase by &euro; 448.1 million or 2.63% in comparison to the 1st Quarter and by +5.36% compared to the year-end 2022. The investment performance calculated by the Oesterreichische Kontrollbank improved to +0.96% in the 2nd Quarter of 2023, having stood at +0.65% in the 1st Quarter. The average yield in the past ten years has been +1.41% per annum, the five year average +0.59% per annum, and the three year average +0.44%. The number of beneficiaries (entitled) (including multiple benefits from multiple BVKs) rose to 10.68 million during the reporting quarter to 10.68 million (+87,000 or +0.81%). As of 30.06.2023, the average amount of the entitlement stood at approximately &euro; 1,636 (Q1-23: &euro;1,607). These are the findings of the FMA&rsquo;s report on the state of the corporate provision funds in the 1st Quarter of 2013 (&ldquo;FMA-Bericht zur Lage der Betrieblichen Vorsorgekassen im 2.Quartal 2023&rdquo;), which was published today.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Conservative Investment Strategy<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The obligatory capital guarantee combined with fluctuating payment requirements in line with the development of the employment market, also by law, require an investment policy that pays particular attention to security and liquidity. As of the end of the 2nd quarter of 2023, corporate provision funds primarily invested their assets managed in debt securities (63.83%), shares (13.05%), cash at banks (8.22%), real estate (6.65%) as well as loans and credits (4.33%), with the remaining amount (3.92%) in other assets. The portfolio structure was therefore by and large unchanged in comparison with the preceding quarter &ndash; there were only minor shifts in debt securities (+2.12%) and cash at banks (-1.78%).<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BVKs are required to form a capital guarantee reserve to cover the guarantee prescribed under law on the paid-up capital.
