IOSCO World Investor Week: The latest edition of the FMA’s consumer information series “Let’s talk about money” addresses the “7 Rules of Investing”.<\/p>

To coincide with the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO)’s “World Investment Week”, the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) has dedicated the latest edition of its “Let’s talk about money” consumer information series to “7 Rules of Investing”. This year’s World Investor Week focuses on three topics of particular current relevance: Investor Resilience, Crypto Assets, and Sustainable Finance.<\/p>

“The world of investing can be complex and challenging one, but is also a key to securing your financial situation in the future. The latest edition of our customer information series “Let’s talk about money” contains seven simple rules for explaining to anyone who is interested in investment about what they need to be aware of to be able to make an investment decision that is appropriate for their needs,” remarked the FMA’s Executive Board Members, Helmut Ettl and Eduard Müller: “This short two-page guide does not use jargon, provides explanations in clear and simple language, and also provides valuable tips about how interested parties can access further useful information.”<\/p>

The seven rules of investing are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>

  1. Define clear goals!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Be aware of your risk appetite!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Be sure to diversify: spread your money among different assets and investment classes!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Compare the costs!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Pick who you do business with carefully!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Seek professional advice!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Improve your financial knowledge!<\/li>\n<\/ol>
