The 2024 annual report highlights the FMA&rsquo;s zero-tolerance policy very clearly: Fines imposed in this area increased significantly to over &euro; 4 million. In addition, the FMA imposed several supervisory measures upon European American Investment Bank AG for severe breaches of the FM-GwG, which ultimately also led to the European Central Bank withdrawing its banking licence (not legally effective). Other priorities in the prevention of money laundering in 2024 were risks relating to (frequently intransparent) real estate transactions as well as the implementation of the European Union&rsquo;s AML package, including the establishment of the European Anti Money Laundering Authority, AMLA, in Frankfurt.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All details about the FMA&rsquo;s supervisory activity can be found in the annual report <em>Thematic Priorities and Trends 2024.
