ESG Dialogue for Credit Institutions

ESG Dialogue for Credit Institutions

Sustainability as a priority in practice

Sustainability is a key component of supervisory activities. We hold great store in a continual exchange of knowledge and the joint further development of methodologies regarding ESG risk management. We therefore offer various formats to promote dialogue with supervised entities.

We believe in dialogue: effective ESG risk management by means of practical and proportional supervision. In addition, the topic of sustainable finance and ESG risk management are addressed in management talks and structured dialogues with credit institutions.

FMA OeNB Forum

On 29 April 2025, the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) and the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB) held their FMA OeNB Forum on the topic of ESG risks at less significant institutions (LSIs). The subjects covered at the event included experiences from SREP questionnaires and analyses in recent years as well as the amendments in the revised FMA Guide for Managing Sustainability Risks as well as current new developments in relation to CRR/CRD. In addition to staff members responsible for ESG agendas, the target audience were members of the senior management and the management body as well as representatives from the Austrian Economic Chambers (WKO).
