Old-age provision

Old-age provision in Austria essentially consists of three pillars. While state old-age provision and the “Abfertigung neu” severance scheme are compulsory under law, in the case of private old-age provision and in the case of Pensionskassen (pension funds) you voluntarily pay in money for pension purposes.

  • The Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection is responsible for state old-age provision.
