Report on Foreign Insurance Business of Austrian Insurance Groups 2025

The Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) has published its report about Austrian insurance groups’ foreign business in 2025. Net premiums abroad rose by 10.7% to EUR 14.3 billion, with foreign business making up 56% of all business, and therefore continuing to exceed domestic business.

Insurers have a particularly strong presence in Central and South Eastern Europe (CESEE), with Czechia and Poland remaining the most important markets. VIG remains the largest group, with a premium volume of EUR 14.6 billion, followed by Uniqa with EUR 8.1 billion.
