The European Central Bank (ECB) published a Dear CEO letter to significant banks on 07 July 2026. It refers to the increasing risks that arise for cyber-security due to the use of Frontier AI Systems. The ECB emphasises the urgency for the swift remediation of existing security vulnerabilities as well as additional measures to be taken to strengthen operational and digital resilience. Institutions are expected to submit actions plans by 31 October 2026.
