On 6 February 2024, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) issued a publication aimed at raising awareness about the requirements of the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) that apply when posting investment recommendations on social media. At the same time it also warns about the risk of manipulation in such publications.
