The Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) issued an administrative decision on 28 May 2009 revoking the licence of the credit institution Bank Medici AG with headquarters at Operngasse 6/4, 1010 Vienna. The action was due to the fact that the company consistently held less than the €5 million in initial capital prescribed by law.
As a result, Bank Medici AG is no longer entitled to carry out the banking transactions listed in Article 1 para. 1 of the Bankwesengesetz (BWG; Banking Act).
At the same time, the appointment of government commissioner Gerhard Altenberger was thereby terminated.
