The Romanian Insurance Supervisory Authority, Autoritatea de Supraveghere Financiară (ASF) announced that it withdrew its authorisation for the provision of insurance services by Societatea Asigurare-Reasigurare Astra S.A. via a decision on 26.08.2015. This decision was declared to be final and irrevocable by the competent court on 28.04.2016 following the opening of resolution proceedings. Under Romanian law, conditions now exist under which the Policyholders Guarantee Fund – FGA (Fondul de Garantare a Asiguratilor) may commence payments to creditors.
