The FMA warns about Get betal AB, whose licence as a payment institution for providing money remittance services was withdrawn by the Swedish supervisory authority, Finansinspektionen, with immediate effect on 21.01.2026. Its licence was withdrawn because the institution submitted inaccurate information during an authorisation procedure. In addition, Finansinspektionen determined in the course of an investigation initiated in 2025 that Get betal AB has breached several key provisions of the Swedish Payment Services Act and other relevant regulations.
Finansinspektionen has ordered that the institution shall be required to discontinue business activities by 04 February 2026 at the latest. Until that date, Get betal AB will only be permitted to conduct activities that assist in the orderly wind-down of business operations, such as repayment of funds of customers.
During wind-down the institution is prohibited from:
- entering into new customer relationships,
- providing payment services for existing customers,
- taking fresh deposits from existing customers.
