At the virtual event “Familienfreundliche Arbeitgeber 2020” (family-friendly employers) on 4 March 2021, the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) was presented with the “berufundfamilie” official certification for the third time for its ongoing commitment to being a family-friendly employer by the Federal Minister for Women, Family, Youth and Integration, Dr. Susanne Raab.

The FMA has been participating in the “Audit berufundfamilie” (audit on the compatibility of career and family) since 2013, which aims to establish a family-aware corporate culture and to draw up corresponding actions. Following its basic certification in November 2013, the FMA was awarded the full “berufundfamilie” certification by the competent ministry in 2017 following a repeat audit. Following a second re-audit in 2020, which was conducted remotely, new measures and further-reaching goals to be achieved in the next three years were drawn up, which have been drawn together to form a list of criteria.

On this occasion, the measures prioritise the areas “mobile working”, “remote leadership” as well as “virtual cooperation”.

The issue of “reconciliation of work and family life” is a core element of the FMA’s corporate policy, and is intended in the future to also be shaped by actively involving its employees. The FMA’s objective is to become a role model in this field in the long-term.
