Investment services provider

An investment services provider (Article 4 WAG 2007) is a legal or natural person with its registered headquarters and head office in Austria. The scope of activities in the case of insurance services providers is limited, unlike in the case of investment firms to investment advice (Article 3 para. 2 no.1 WAG 2007) and receiving and transmitting of orders in relation to customer orders (Article 3 para. 2 no.3 WAG 2007) with regard to certain financial instruments.
The investment services provider is not authorised to conduct portfolio management. The provision of investment services shall be limited to transferable securities pursuant to Article 1 no. 6 point a WAG 2007 and units in collective investment undertakings pursuant to Article 1 no. 6 point c WAG 2007.
