Liquidators petition for opening of insolvency proceedings

Release Date: |
Categories:

Denmark’s insurance supervision Authority Finanstilsynet (Danish Financial Supervisory Authority) has informed the FMA that the liquidators of the Danish insurance company Alpha Insurance A/S filed a petition for the opening of insolvency proceedings on 8 May 2018.

According to the Danish supervisory authority this means that the insurance cover of the policyholders ends, and policyholders must seek insurance cover with another insurance provider immediately.

Furthermore, the Danish insurance supervisor also advised that the Danish Guarantee Fund for non-life insurance undertakings will cover claims in many cases. More detailed information for consumers is available on the website of the Danish Guarantee Fund at http://www.skadesgarantifonden.dk/Sider/Forside.aspx.

Consumers may contact the Danish supervisor directly with any questions they might have, and the supervisor is also sharing information via its website, where a list of questions and answers has been set up. The FMA is only able to forward enquiries to the Danish supervisor.
