Q4 2018 FMA Report on Supervision of Capital Market Prospectuses: continuing stable issuance activity

During the 4th quarter of 2018, the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) approved 14 prospectuses, the same number as in the corresponding period of the previous year. A total of 62 prospectuses were approved last year, compared with 69 in 2017. The number of final terms deposited in conjunction with an approved base prospectus more than trebled from 644 (Q4-2017) to 2,003 (Q4-2018); with the number of supplements to prospectuses in this period by around one-fifth from 24 to 19. 57 prospectuses were notified to Austria from other Member States in the European Union, 17 fewer (-23%) than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The number of notified supplements fell by 24.9% during this period from 253 to 190. The FMA notified 6 prospectuses and 11 supplements to sister authorities during this period; during the 4th quarter of 2017 it notified 2 prospectuses and 14 supplements. These figures emerged from the report published today by the FMA for the 4th quarter of 2018 for prospectus supervision.
