Update: 04 July 2024

On 04 July 2024, the Danish Commerce and Companies Appeals Board (Erhvervsankenævnet) decided that the case should be referred back to the Danish Financial Service Authority (Finanstilsynet) for further review. Safenetpay ApS is therefore allowed to continue to provide financial services in Austria.

Update: 20 October 2023

On October 20, 2023, the Danish Commerce and Companies Appeals Board decided that the appeal of Safenetpay ApS should have suspensive effect. Hence, Safenetpay ApS can continue providing financial services in Austria until the final decision of the Danish Commerce and Companies Appeals Board is made.

On 12 July 2023, Safenetpay ApS had lodged an appeal at the Danish Commerce and Companies Appeals Board against the decision to revoke its licence.

Warning: 19 July 2023

The FMA warned about the electronic money institution Safenetpay ApS, the licence of which for providing financial services has been revoked by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority. During an investigation the Danish supervisory authority arrived at the conclusion that the authorisation was granted on the basis of false or misleading information and that it is not possible to assume that the registered office of Safenetpay ApS is actually located in Denmark.
