Boris Gröndahl joins FMA as Media Relations Officer from Bloomberg News.

Boris Gröndahl, who is currently the Head of the German language service of the American news agency Bloomberg News, will join the Austrian Financial Market Authority’s Communications team on 1 June 2024. He will succeed Klaus Grubelnik as the FMA’s Media Relations Officer, who retires at the end of the year.

“We are very happy to have managed to the secure the services of Boris Gröndahl, one of the most renowned financial journalists in the German-speaking world and an experience expert about the Austrian financial market, for the FMA,“ remarked the FMA’s Executive Directors, Helmut Ettl and Eduard Müller: “We also understand this as a clear signal about how important the utmost transparency and competent and open dialogue with the market and all of its stakeholders is for the FMA. We are convinced that Boris Gröndahl will help us to further develop our external communications and in particular to further strengthen our digital presence.“

Gröndahl has held posts at various international financial media outlets over the last 25 years. In 1999, he was part of the founding team of “Financial Times Deutschland” before moving to Reuters News in Frankfurt and subsequently in Vienna. Since 2010, he has reported for Bloomberg News from Vienna, in a variety of roles including as Head of Bureau and the Head of its German Language Service.
