Slovakia’s Insurance Supervisor (NBS) temporary prohibits NOVIS Insurance Company, NOVIS Versicherungsgesellschaft, NOVIS Compagnia di Assicurazioni, NOVIS Poisťovňa a.s. (NOVIS) from conducting new business

The Slovakian Insurance Supervisor (NBS) is temporarily prohibiting NOVIS Insurance Company, NOVIS Versicherungsgesellschaft, NOVIS Compagnia di Assicurazioni, NOVIS Poisťovňa a.s. (NOVIS) from conducting new business under certain conditions. (18.09.2020)

This EEA insurance undertaking with its registered office in Slovakia has a branch establishment in Austria (see Company Database) and is registered or active in Austria under the freedom of establishment in the insurance classes life insurance, unit-linked life insurance and index-linked life insurance.

Due to an intervention by the FMA, marketing by already voluntarily discontinued by this undertaking in September 2018 and according to the available information has not been resumed again to date.

The issuing of the current temporary prohibition of new business on 18.09.2020 by the Slovakian supervisor as the competent home authority also relates to business operations in Austria. The FMA is in close contact with both NBS and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) about this insurance undertaking.
