The FMA warned about the electronic money institution Safenetpay ApS, the licence of which for providing financial services has been revoked by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority. During an investigation the Danish supervisory authority arrived at the conclusion that the authorisation was granted on the basis of false or misleading information and that it is not possible to assume that the registered office of Safenetpay ApS is actually located in Denmark.
On 12 July 2023, Safenetpay ApS lodged an appeal at the Danish Commerce and Companies Appeals Board against this decision. The appeal procedure is currently ongoing.
Update: On October 20, 2023, the Danish Commerce and Companies Appeals Board decided that the complaint of Safenetpay ApS should have suspensive effect. Hence, Safenetpay ApS can continue providing financial services in Austria until the final decision of the Danish Commerce and Companies Appeals Board is made.
