FMA issues regulation on information requirements for Pensionskassen

The Austrian Financial Market Authority FMA has issued a regulation entitled Informationspflichtenverordnung Pensionskassen (InfoV-PK; Information Requirements Regulation for Pensionskassen) on the “Content and structure of information to be provided by Pensionskassen to beneficiaries (entitled and recipients), survivors and insured persons”. This regulation governs the information requirements in relation to the life-cycle model, such as the options for switching within a Pensionskasse or from a Pensionskasse to an occupational group insurance. These information requirements will apply from 1 January 2013. In addition, the regulation specifies the information requirements that will apply in respect of the annual statement of account and when a benefit event occurs. These will apply from 1 January 2014.
